BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The research lines of the group focus on the main themes of the classical tradition and their revival in the humanistic and Renaissance periods, in particular the Latin translations of Plato and Proclus by Marsilius Ficinus, the new Latin translations of Aristotle and the rediscovery of Pyrrhonian skepticism through the diffusion and translation of the works of Sextus Empiricus. Finally, as for the scientific field, emphasis will be given above all to the rediscovery of the Euclid’s and Archimedes’ works.
